Family - The Buckles Family

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the Buckles Family -Patrick, Jessica and Patrick Jr. - this past weekend at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek.

I photographed Patrick and Jessica's wedding a few years back, and we have stayed in touch over the years. I love it when my clients stay in touch after their wedding. Especially when I am able to photograph them after they start families. I hope to photograph them for years to come.....

But for now, just a couple of my favorites...

E-Session - Ramona & Mark

This past weekend I met with Ramona and Mark at the Lafayette Reservoir to shoot their engagement photos. This is a very special place to them - Mark proposed to Ramona under "their" tree.

It was truly a beautiful day at the Reservoir. We had so much fun walking around and I really got to know Ramona and Mark as a couple. They have been together since High School and are each others best friend.

Family - Netherton Family Session

This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the Netherton Family - Kelly, Tim and Brady. Kelly has been a bridesmaid in two recent weddings that I photographed, so when she contacted me about photographing 4 month old Brady, I couldn't hardly wait !!!

Brady is absolutely adorable. He is such a sweet boy and is so well behaved. I had such a great time photographing this family. We're hoping to schedule a session every few months over the next year, so stay tuned....

Vicki & Brian - Wedding

I had the absolute pleasure of shooting Vicki and Brian's wedding last weekend. They were married at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Pleasanton and their reception was held at the beautiful Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin.

One thing you need to know about this couple is that they don't take themselves seriously - AT ALL ! Candid was the word of the day, as they couldn't stop making faces and goofing off all day long. But if you get to know them, you realize that this is who they are, and you love them for it.

It is no exaggeration that I truly felt as if I was a guest at their wedding, rather than a paid professional. I can't count the amount of times that I was pulled on the dance floor to dance with Vicki & Brian. At one point, Brian told me to put down the camera and just have fun with them. Being the complete professional I am, I politely declined...however, when they look at their video, they will see me on the very edge of the dance floor "shakin' what the Lord gave me".

Vicki and Brian, thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of capturing your wedding day. You reminded me again why I absolutely LOVE what I do and that I would not trade my "job" for anything in the world.

I hope you enjoy your two weeks in Hawaii and I can't wait for your "Trash the Dress" session when you get back.

Wedding- Nora & Rick - Wente Winery

This past weekend we shot a beautiful wedding in Livermore at Wente Winery. I was a little nervous because the weather called for rain all day, but luckily it only rained in the morning and by the time the ceremony started it was blue skies and puffy clouds.

I have been so lucky this year to photograph some amazing weddings with some absolutely amazing couples. This wedding was no different.

The day was full of so much love and it was so infectious. I couldn't help but cry (again) during their ceremony, as it was full of such beautiful words about the two of them.

But it didn't end there...the toasts were spectacular, the dancing was fun and hilarious, and the CAKE....the BEST carrot cake I have ever had ! It made my tummy so very happy.

It was so hard to choose photos for the blog because there were so many amazing moments, but here are a few of my favorite.

I had the absolute privilege of shooting Marni & Ben's wedding a few weeks back at the beautiful Palmdale Estates in Fremont. It is such a lovely venue. Lots of trees and foliage and a few great little spots for capturing some really nice photos.

Wedding - Natalie & Jeremy - Piedmont

I was fortunate last weekend to join my friend Chris of Chris Ryce Photography for a wedding at the Piedmont Community Center and Park. Chris and I met some years back in a photography class and we became friends and eventually he worked with me shooting weddings for a couple of seasons.

I was so excited to be HIS assistant/2nd photographer for a change. I love shooting as an assistant, because I am able to just relax and keep everything organized while still grabbing some amazing photos throughout the day.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Ashtyn's 2nd Birthday

So, it has taken me over a month to blog my own child's birthday party. Shame on me !!!! But I honestly have been so busy with wedding season, this was the first opportunity I had. So I apologize to my monkey girl for taking this long.

As you will see, we had a Sesame Street themed birthday this year. All Ashtyn ever thinks about is Elmo (well, actually this month she has moved on to Curious George), but for the last 6 months, it's been Elmo this, Big Bird that, Abby Cadaby this.....so, Sesame Street was the logical choice for her 2nd birthday party.

Isn't this just the cutest cake? Of course I wasn't thinking that when I was baking and decorating it the day before....but I refuse to buy store bought cakes....

Another shout out to my girl Rizza...HAPPY BIRTHDAY my friend. I'm so happy you came into my life this year. I hope you have a wonderful day and a rockin' birthday year !!!!

One last thing....Go Jets (did I really just say that) !!! If you know me, you'll understand !!! (But I still and always will "heart" GB !!!)

Bree & Kevin - Engagement

Last weekend I took another trip out to San Francisco to photograph Bree & Kevin's Engagement Photos. We started really early in the morning hoping to get some great light. Along with the great light, we caught some of the early morning fog that the City is so famous for. But I think the fog added a little something extra....

Bree and Kevin are getting married in 2010, but family and friends just couldn't wait to see some engagement photos.

Bree and Kevin, I had such a great time with you both. It was so clear how much in love you are and I wish you both all of the happiness in the WORLD !!!

Lauren's Trash the Dress - 7-12-08

You may remember Lauren from her wedding we shot back in April at Ruby Hill Country Club. This past weekend we took a drive to Sausalito and the Marin Headlands to "Trash the Dress" - which is a newer phenomenon spreading throughout the world. Some photographers call it "trashing the dress", others call it "the day after shoot". Either way works for me. We didn't actually "trash the dress", just dirtied it up a bit and had a FABULOUS time !!!

Lauren has to be one of my favorite clients of all time. She is beautiful inside and out - and she is also a photographer's dream...she let us do whatever we wanted with her. She supplied the props, we supplied the fun !!!!

A huge thank you to my girl Rizza of Rizzariz Photography, her sister Patty, Lauren's niece Haley and of course, Lauren our beautiful bride.

Vicki & Brian - Engagement - Baker Beach

I met up with Vicki and Brian at Baker Beach in San Francisco on Sunday to take their engagement photos. It was a cool, clear day in the City - perfect for photos. The sun was still bright when we started, but towards the end of our day, as the sun was setting, the light was warm and glowing as were Vicki & Brian.

Vicki and Brian are so much fun and I can't wait for their wedding in October. I had so many great photos to choose from, but here are a few of my favorites...

She took one of their engagement photos and had it enlarged and attached it to this old piece of driftwood. I thought it was just amazing that such a simple idea could be executed and look this gorgeous !!!

Rhawnie & Steve - Wedding 5/31/08

We traveled up North this weekend for the wedding of Rhawnie and Steve in her hometown of Weed, California. Now, if you have never heard of Weed, you don't know what you are missing. This small town (population 3,000) is about 1 hour North of Lake Shasta, and the town sits basically at the base of Mt. Shasta. It is a little piece of Heaven.

When we were planning our trip, we checked the weather and saw that there was a 30% chance of scattered T-storms. But being the optimists, we didn't bring umbrellas. Even when we stopped for lunch, we had a chance to buy some, but we looked at the sky and didn't think that it would rain that day........wow, were we completely WRONG !!!!

It was beautiful when we arrived at the local High School where the ceremony and reception were taking place. As lovers of baseball, Rhawnie and Steve decided to have their "baseball themed" wedding take place on the pitchers mound of the baseball field, where all of the guests would look on from the stands. The reception area was set up on the field. Long story short...as soon as Rhawnie and her Dad were about to walk down the aisle, the skies opened up and it started to sprinkle. Just after the ceremony we went to take photos on the adjacent field with Mt. Shasta as our backdrop. It took about 5 seconds for the rain to start pouring down and what was to be an outdoor reception on the lawn became a scramble to get everyone into the stands where it was dry and they could eat.

Rhawnie and Steve had a back-up plan....move everyone to the local Brewery for the remainder of the reception. A cute, local bar that had a ton of charm and they had the place all for themselves.

Rhawnie & Steve, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding day. You reminded us what weddings are all about...fun, spontaneity, friends, family and two people who are truly meant for each-other.

Ashtyn - Just Because

With the long holiday weekend and my husband Jon on vacation, Ashtyn and I had just a girls' weekend. We went shopping, had dinner, ran errands, and bought this cute little pink, fuzzy chair that will go perfect in her new room. But, it was such a nice day outside, so I wanted to take some new photos of her. So, we brought the new pink, fuzzy chair outside for some fun in the sun.

Baby Hannah

So, I am so excited to say that we welcomed the newest addition to our family on March 31, 2008. Miss Hannah Elizabeth Hosler joined our family at 8:30 pm and weighed in at a whopping 7 pounds and measured 20 inches long.

I was never able to post Hannah's mom (Krista) pregnancy photos that we took mid-March...so I am posting a couple of her photos followed by the beautiful Hannah Elizabeth.

Ashtyn absolutely adores and loves her new baby cousin and we are so blessed to have this new addition to our family. Girl Power !!!!

I loved this shot out in their backyard...the sun was starting to set and we got some beautiful flare for fun...

I love this shot in their bedroom, because you can see their engagement photo (taken in Yosemite) that was signed at their wedding. Andy had it custom framed as a gift.

We did this same shot when Andy and Krista were pregnant with their first child, Benjamin....had to do the repeat and keep the tradition going.

Marni + Ben - Engagement - Crissy Field

I met up with Marni and Ben today to shoot some engagement photos of them at Crissy Field in San Francisco. This was actually the first time I had photographed there - and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to go back. I normally shoot on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge at Baker Beach, but this spot is just as fabulous. On a clear day, you get a wonderful view of the bridge in the background, but today was very foggy and overcast so no GG Bridge. However, it was a perfect day for photos at the beach and in the park. We started at the beach and worked our way over to the beautiful, lush green grass, which is a treat for me, as I usually do most engagement sessions at the beach.

What can I say about Marni and Ben....I LOVE THEM !!!! They made me feel so relaxed, that I didn't feel as if I was working at all. I felt like I was spending a day with two friends and I just happened to have my camera and took a few photos of them. They are genuinly nice people who care about and respect one another. I love everything about them...I love Marni's bright blue eyes and big beautiful smile and how it made me smile....and Ben, I loved the way he looked at Marni when he didn't know I was looking. It is so nice to see a couple together who really love each other and who can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together.

Marni and Ben, thank you for a wonderful morning together. I can't wait until September for your wedding....I feel so honored and blessed that you chose me to capture one of the most special days of your life.

Ashtyn - Just Because

So, this is my first personal post. I've been wanting to post some photos of my family, but just haven't had the time. That sounds terrible, doesn't it? So, here is the very first post of my daughter Ashtyn. I LOVE her to pieces. But taking photos of her is probably one of the hardest things I do. She absolutely hates to have the camera in her face. So, I have to put my long lens on and step back - then I just let her go. Today she is not feeling well, but she actually smiled for a few photos. And yes, she is a complete ham....

Lauren & Jon - April 12 Wedding - Part 2

Well, I've been wanting to do a "Part 2" of Lauren and Jon's wedding - but I wanted to wait until I received my girl Rizza's photos. As I said before, she is an amazing photographer and friend, so I wanted to be able to showcase her work as well. I'll be noting which amazing photos are hers. I tossed a few more of mine in there as well.
Again, Lauren and Jon, thank you for such an amazing day full of "life, laughter and love". We all had such a great time !

Tiffany + Ren - March 29, 2008

I met Tiffany and Ren through some friends of my family - Mike & Jackie (I photographed Jackie's son's wedding 2 years ago). I was so honored that Tiffany and Ren asked me to photograph their wedding. As soon as I met them and heard their story, I couldn't wait for their wedding to arrive.
It was such a beautiful day...the weather and lighting could not have been better. I have never photographed a wedding at the Vizcaya, so I was pleasantly surprised at what a beautiful venue it was.
Tiffany and Ren, thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your special day. You two and your families are such an inspiration to me.

Lauren & Jon - April 12, 2008 - Part 1

I had the joy of capturing the wedding of Lauren and Jon this past weekend at the beautiful Ruby Hill Country Club in Pleasanton. I first met Lauren and Jon at Savannah and Juilian's wedding last May. After several e-mails, we were finally able to meet and discuss their wedding. I could tell right away that this was going to be something very special. Lauren is so detail oriented, that I knew she was going to have a spectacular wedding. When we decided to take their engagement photos at Baker Beach last summer, I was so excited because I love to photograph at the Beach and also, I knew we would be spending a few hours together getting to know eachother. These two are so much in love and everytime I look at their photos I get goosebumps. They are both gorgeous, but more than that, they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.

This wedding was also a first for me. Normally I have one assistant/2nd shooter with me. Today I was joined by three other photographers - Karen, Heather and Rizza. Although Karen has worked with me over the past few years, this was the first time for Heather. They are both friends and I have learned that they are fabulous photographers. Then there is Rizza....my angel. I recently met Rizza and we became fast friends. She started working with me recently and I couldn't be happier !!! She is an AMAZING photographer ! She loves to shoot the "details" and is amazing behind the scenes. By the way, she is also an amazing graphic design artist. She designed my blog and has helped me transition into the whole world of blogging.
So thank you to my girls for your amazing friendship and talent. I couldn't have done it without you !!!!!!

Before they left for the evening, Lauren changed into this gorgeous little white dress. I had to end the evening with a couple of photos of them sneaking away for a quick private moment as husband and wife.
